TRANSITIONS ARE OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE GOD AT A DEEPER LEVEL!

Psalm 37:23—A person’s steps are established by the LORD, and He takes pleasure in his way.

Proverbs 16:9—A person’s heart plans his way, but the LORD determines his steps.

If we are going to experience all that God has for us, we must learn from this account with the Children of Israel on the steps we must take to possess God’s Promises.

STEP 1: Take a Step of

Joshua 3: 2-4, (CSB)—After three days the officers went through the camp 3 and commanded the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God carried by the Levitical priests, you are to break camp and follow it. 4 But keep a distance of about a thousand yards[b] between yourselves and the ark. Don’t go near it, so that you can see the way to go, for you haven’t traveled this way before.

    Believe…

          a) God the Way – ch. 3: 2-4

Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

          b) With God things are Possible – ch. 3: 9-13

Joshua 3: 13—When the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the Lord, the Lord of the whole earth, come to rest in Jordan’s water, its water will be cut off. The water flowing downstream will stand up in a mass.”

Matthew 19:23— But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

    STEP 2:  Set up

Joshua 4: 3— and command them: Take twelve stones from this place in the middle of the Jordan where the priests are standing, carry them with you, and set them down at the place where you spend the night.

    Landmarks have 3 purposes…

    1. Rejoice in what God done, and to the next generation.

Joshua 4: 6-7,— … In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ 7 you should tell them, ‘The water of the Jordan was cut off in front of the ark of the Lord’s covenant. …Therefore these stones will always be a memorial for the Israelites.

Vs. 9 Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant were standing. The stones are still there today.

Joshua 4: 21-24—… “In the future, when your children ask their fathers, ‘What is the meaning of these stones?’ 22you should tell your children, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’ 23 For the Lord your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over… 24 This is so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord’s hand is mighty, and so that you may always fear the Lord your God.”

Celebrate what God done….Let that build for and that to the Next Generation!

    STEP 3:    Yourself

Joshua 3: 5Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves because the Lord will do wonders among you tomorrow.
