What is your motivation for following Jesus?

John the Apostle shared the motivation of the early believers…

1 John 1: 1-4— What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have observed and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— that life was revealed, and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us — what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Let your motivation be…

1. The with God you have been offered.

2. To HIm with your life.

1 John 2: 5-6— But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the love of God is made complete. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.

1 John 3: 14— We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.

3. Energized by the you are promised.

1 John 2: 28—So now, little children, remain in Him so that when He appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

1 John 3: 2-3—Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as He is pure.

4. Inspired by the you have received.

1 John 4: 9-10—God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 John 4: 17— In this, love is made complete with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment,

Keep your focus on and never stop moving !

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name.  Amen
