MORE OPTIONS — MORE FENCES

1 King 18:15-21— But Elijah said, “I swear by the Lord Almighty, in whose presence I stand, that I will present myself to Ahab this very day.”16 So Obadiah went to tell Ahab that Elijah had come, and Ahab went out to meet Elijah. 17 When Ahab saw him, he exclaimed, “So, is it really you, you troublemaker of Israel?”18 “I have made no trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “You and your family are the troublemakers, for you have refused to obey the commands of the Lord and have worshiped the images of Baal instead. 19 Now summon all Israel to join me at Mount Carmel, along with the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah who are supported by Jezebel. ”20 So Ahab summoned all the people of Israel and the prophets to Mount Carmel. 21 Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

    CONDITIONS FOR MAKING CHOICES:

    1. Not is not a choice

vs. 21- 21 —Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

      1.  isn’t wise

James 1:6-8 —But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.  Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.  7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. Trust that God is a sovereign God. Remember that He has delivered you time and time and again. Trust in His timing even when it does not make sense!!

        1.  to choose

Ephesians 1:4 — Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.

        1. You choose

Solid  making is discerning Gods will. He is eager to show His plans for you.

Psalm 119:30 —I have chosen the faithful way. I have set Your Law in front of me.

Proverbs 14:12 —There is a way which looks right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

God blesses those decisions He initiates:

        • When we line up with His

Psalm 119:33 —O Lord, teach me the way of Your Law and I will obey it to the end.

God blesses those decisions that result in His glory:

        • When we reflect His character that promotes kindness and humility……..

Micah 6:8 — No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
