John 16:7-11—(Jesus said)— Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you.  If I go, I will send Him to you.  8 When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment:  9 About sin, because they do not believe in Me;  10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me;   11 and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

The Holy Spirit  conviction: – (John 16: 8).

1. The Holy Spirit ignites a conviction for .

Revelation 1: 14-15— The hair of His head was white as wool—white as snow—and His eyes like a fiery flame.  15 His feet were like fine bronze as it is fired in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of cascading waters.

1 Peter 1: 7—so that the proven character of your faith—more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12: 1— No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

2 Corinthians 7: 10— For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly grief produces death.

2. The Holy Spirit ignites for Christ.

Luke 24:32—They said to each other, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us?”

Acts 4: 31— When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God boldly.

Exodus 19: 18— Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke because the Lord came down on it in fire.  Its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.

Revelation 19: 11-12— Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.
