HERALD

“Christmas Tree” part 3

Dr. Chris Vaught, senior pastor

A Herald is…

a royal or official messenger,

One who gives news or tidings of; announce; proclaim:

As a Herald of God…

of !

John 3:16 (NKJ) — For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The Good News is for !

Luke 2: 8-11—  In the same region, shepherds were staying out in the fields and keeping watch at night over their flock. 9 Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you Good News of great joy that will be for all the people: 11Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord.

Matthew 2: 1-2— After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star at its rising and have come to worship Him.”

Vs. 10-11— When they saw the star, they were overwhelmed with joy. 11 Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Romans 10: 8-9, 13— This is the message of faith that we proclaim: 9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

The most effective method for sharing the Good News is telling about Jesus.

Luke 2: 17-18— After seeing them, they (shepherds) reported the message they were told about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

Romans 10: 14-15— How, then, can they call on Him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.

The Big Take-Away

Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, I also .”  —John 20:21
