A covenant is a formal , a between God and mankind to the world.
Each partner in the Covenant has their own .
The Original Covenant, the Fall and the promise to Redeem.
Genesis 1:27–28 (CSB)— So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.”
Genesis 2:15–17 (CSB)— The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”
Genesis 3:8 (CSB)—Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
Romans 8:19–22 (CSB)—For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly, but because of him who subjected it—in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage to decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
● TO REDEEM =
Genesis 3:15 (CSB)—I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.
The New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:31,33-34 (CSB)— “Look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. …“I will put my teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know me, from the least to the greatest of them”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “For I will forgive their iniquity and never again remember their sin.
Ezekiel 36:25–27 (CSB)— I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place my Spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances.
The New Covenant in Jesus
Luke 22:20 (CSB)— In the same way he also took the cup after supper and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Hebrews 9:14–15 (CSB)—How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works so that we can serve the living God? Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (CSB)— Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
BIG TAKE AWAY
Jesus will fulfill His responsibilities, receive Him and fulfill yours?
John 6:37, 40 (CSB)— Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out. Vs. 40, For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him will have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
Are you ready to accept Jesus today?
Just pray a prayer like this:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen
