Week 2: The Co$t of Clarity
Psalm 119:105 NIV
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
Psalm 119:105 MSG
By your words I can see where I’m going;
they throw a beam of light on my dark path.
God is
God is
God is
1 John 1:5 NIV
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Focus means I am making a decision to not look at everything I am capable of seeing.
Where is your focus?
If your focus is on the past you are reliving.
If your focus is on the present you are in the now.
If your focus is on the future you are pre-living.
Matthew 23:23 NIV
23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
James 1:22-25 NIV
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Luke 2:49 AMPC
And He said to them, How is it that you had to look for Me? Did you not see and know that it is necessary [as a duty] for Me [a]to be in My Father’s house and [occupied] about My Father’s business?
