“God in the Evening”

Matthew 11:25-30

But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. — Luke 24:29 (NIV)

“Christ is the head of the home, the unseen guest of every meal, the silent listener to every conversation.”

In the Evenings, We Welcome Our Unseen Guest

  1. The Unseen Guest Is 

 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. — Matthew 11:25–26 (NIV)

  1. The Unseen Guest Is 

  1.  for Today

    “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

  2. for Tomorrow

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:29–30 (NIV)
