THE HOLY SPIRIT Week Three: “What Does the Holy Spirit Do?”

(1) for Salvation.

8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; -John 16:8-9

(2) in the Life of a Believer. 

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9

(3) Permanently a Believer.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, – Ephesians 1:13 

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

(4) a Believer. 

Don’t be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. – Ephesians 5:18 

(5) Bestow to a Believer. 

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  -1 Corinthians 12:4-7

(6) Helps each believer God is .

“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” – 1 Corinthians 2:14

(7) Provides .

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— John 14:16

(8) Provides .

“And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. – Acts 20:22

(9) Makes about .

“He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.” – John 16:14

9 “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” -Philippians 2:9-11

(10) Brings to God’s .

1 “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” – Philippians 2:1-2
