Sermon Series: How Can It Be?

Big Thought Today: No Ordinary Devotion

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep & loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country & go after the lost sheep until he finds it?  & when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders & goes home. Then he calls his friends & neighbors together & says, Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.”  Luke 15:4-6

1.  Relentless

God’s devotion for us is Relentless!  He never gives up, never grows tired or weary, He never turns aside from pursuing us with His great Love.  Luke 15:4, Isaiah 53:3-9, Lamentations 3:22, Psalm 23:6, 1 Corinthians 1:9

2.  Timeless

God’s pursuit for us is relentless because His plan for us is timeless.  His plan for us has always been & always will be for us to be with Him so we have confidence that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  Luke 15:5, Ephesians 1:4-5, John 14:2-3, Jeremiah 29:11, John 6:35-39

3.  Limitless

Often times, because of life & it’s struggles, we can underestimate God’s true devotion for us.  We must never forget that we’re never out of His mind nor out of His reach.  He is our ever present help.  Psalm 139:7-10, Jeremiah 32:27, Romans 8:35-39, Ephesians 3:20, Ephesians 5:1-2

Next Steps

1. “What is Jesus speaking to me through this teaching today?”

2. “How can I apply this to my life?”

3. “Who can I share what I’ve learned today with?”
