Luke 5:1-11

1. Faith in Jesus

To go deeper in Christ, we need to trust Jesus as He leads us.  Even though we may have failed before & tried everything we know to try, trust Jesus & don’t allow your past to distract you from your potential in Christ. Luke 5:4

2. Obey Jesus

To go deeper in Christ, when He speaks to us, we need to not only ‘Trust’ what He is saying, but we need to ‘Do’ what He is saying to do.  Don’t get caught in the trap of disobedience because disobedience is based in pride.  Pride will harden your heart to receive from God & obey Him so don’t allow pride to distract you from your potential in Christ.  Luke 5:5, James 2:15-22, Hebrews 11:6

3. Sacrifice for Jesus

To go deeper in Christ, He needs to be first in our lives.  Sometimes in life, there are things that will keep Jesus at a distance simply because we place them first in our lives before Him.  Let’s not allow possessions distract us from our potential in Christ.  Luke 5:11-12
