    New Members Class

April 25th & May 2nd in the Quilt Room after Sunday School

Is being a member of a church important? What is a Presbyterian? What do we believe? Why do we believe what we do?

Have you ever asked any of these questions? Are you interested in becoming a member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church? Or do you just want to find out more about this wonderful church family and what we believe? If so, you are invited to join Pastor Ross as we explore these and other questions. We will meet immediately following Sunday School. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Gail or Pastor Ross as soon as possible if you are interested.

    Rocks

As we move into the next phase of finishing our front entry area, we are looking to make a raised rock garden in the bed that surrounds the pergolas. We are asking that if you have LARGE rocks (bigger than a football to the point you can’t lift them), please bring them to church and place them in the mulched area west of the Sanctuary. We will collect as many as possible to use for the raised rock garden. Thank you!

Justification by Foolishness?

April 11, 2021   /   Pastor Ross O'Dell   /   Galatians 3:1-5   /   Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church

What does Paul call the Galatians? Does this bother you? If so, why?

What does the Bible say about judging? Can you judge others? Why or why not? Who can we judge? How can/should we judge? (1 Cor. 5:12-13, Matt. 7:1-6)

Why does Paul call the Galatians “fools”? What does the word “fool” mean? How does it apply to the church of Galatia? To us?

What are the 2 sources of Doctrinal (Biblical) error?

  1. Spiritual (demonic)

Which of these is happening to the Galatian church?

What is interesting about the word “eyes” in verse 1 (Gal. 3:1)?

What does it mean that Jesus was publicly portrayed as crucified? Why is this so important?

When do Believers receive the Holy Spirit? How much of the Holy Spirit do we get? Why is this so important, especially in light of what Paul is saying about justification by faith, alone?

What is the work(s) of the Holy Spirit? (Rom. 8:16-17, 9, Eph. 1:13-14)

What does verse 3 (Gal. 3:3) mean? How do we do this?

Why do we do “good works”? What makes a work “good”?

How do we understand verse 4 (Gal. 3:4)?

What does verse 5 (Gal. 3:5) have to do with being justified by faith alone?
