Faith in God/Fe en Dios

We know that God’s overall desire is for you and I to be like Jesus./ Sabemos que el deseo general de Dios es que seamos como Jesús.

Paul explains that we can be right with God but it is not because we earn it. / Pablo explica que podemos estar bien con Dios pero no es porque lo ganemos.

Romans 4:1-4 

The text illustrates that there was nothing special about Abraham.  /El texto nos dice que no ay nade especial de Abraham

God DOES NOT PICK FAVORITES!! / Dios NO ESCOGE FAVORITOS !!

It was nothing more than faith in God.  That sounds really good and it is except for the fact that faith is something that is cultivated by our obedience to God.  Faith will produce a willingness to obey in spite of what our eyes see and our minds can understand.

No era nada mas que fe en Dios.Eso suena muy bien y lo es excepto por el hecho de que la fe es algo que se cultiva por nuestra obediencia a Dios. La fe producirá la voluntad de obedecer a pesar de lo que nuestros ojos ven y nuestra mente puede entender.

Hebrews 5:8 

Can you appreciate God’s process of letting you experience the resistance that life brings you? /Puedes apreciar el proceso de Dios de dejarte experimentar la resistencia que te trae la vida?

God wants you to pass the tests you will encounter.  / Dios quiere que pases la pruebas que encontrarás.

Let’s look at some the tests Abraham encountered. / Veamos algunas de las pruebas que enfrentó Abraham.

 1.) The “what” test /La prueba del “Que”

Abraham was 75 when God called him to leave everything he ever knew and everyone he knew.  There will be moments that God will do this to you.  When he asks you to do things that leave you wondering, “what is the point?”  What is he doing? What is he thinking? When he had comfort and retirement on his mind God had a new season of change. 

Abraham tenía 75 años cuando Dios lo llamó a dejar todo lo que conocía y todos los que conocía. Habrá momentos en que Dios te hará esto. Cuando te pide que hagas cosas que te dejan preguntándote, “¿cuál es el punto?” ¿Qué está haciendo? ¿Qué está pensando? Cuando tuvo consuelo y retiro en su mente, Dios tuvo una nueva temporada de cambio.

2 Kings 5:10-11

2.) The “where” test/ La prueba de “donde”

There will be moments of major change – A test of moving. / Va ver momentos de momentos importantes -Una prueba de movimiento

Genesis 12:1-2

Faith is letting God upset what you think you need or want.  God wants you to be great.  He wants better for your next generation. / La fe es dejar que Dios altere lo que crees que necesitas o quieres. Dios quiere que seas grande. Quiere algo mejor para su próxima generación.  

You do not always know what or where God is taking your relationships or career or family but he asks you to follow him.  / No siempre sabes qué o hacia dónde está llevando Dios tus relaciones, tu carrera o tu familia, pero te pide que lo sigas.

3.) The “when” test/ La prueba de “cuando”

Abraham gets to Canaan but he lives in a tent because there are times when promises are delayed.  There are some promises  that will not be given until heaven./Abraham llega a Canaán pero vive en una tienda de campaña porque hay momentos en que las promesas se retrasan. Hay algunas promesas que no se darán hasta el cielo.

Faith is waiting on God’s timing/ Fe es esperado en el tiempo de Dios

4.) The “how” test/ La prueba de “como”

5.) The “loss” test – ultimate test in Abraham’s life. / La prueba de “perdida” la ultima prueba en la vida de Abraham

Prolonged pain – extended suffering how long will we endure. / Dolor prolongado: sufrimiento prolongado ¿cuánto tiempo aguantaremos?
