“In Thine Heart” – Deuteronomy 6:4-13

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

More important than your child’s education, career, or finances, is the spiritual life of your child.

Before you can be a good leader for God, you have to have your motivation and direction established, and that comes from time spent with God yourself.

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

We have to comprehend that in God’s plan for our lives He saw fit to entrust us with kids, or others in need of guidance, and we will never be able to introduce them to Him unless we know Him.

Deuteronomy 6:7-9 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

A heart for God will always lead you to have a heart for your family.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Deuteronomy 6:10-12 And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full. Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house on bondage.

Nehemiah 4:14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

Nehemiah 2:20b But ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

Hebrews 11:7a By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house.

2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.

Philippians 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

Deuteronomy 6:10-12 Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. That shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

If we lead our children to Christ and they take His grace for salvation for granted it will impact every other thing they do in life.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Use every blessing in your life to direct people right back to God.
