“If Ye Then Be Risen” – Colossians 3:1-5

John 20:17b Go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

1 Corinthians 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

Christianity was born out of what has been called a “Magna Victoria.” The great victory. Jesus defeated death!

I. A In Life.

Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

II. A In Life.

Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Jesus is God, and that means that He is entirely perfect.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

III. A For Eternal Life.

Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

And this is really the question that Easter answers. The question is this, “Do you know for sure if you were to die that you would spend forever in Heaven with Him?”

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
