Series: Be a Christian                                                          Topic: Recipients of Grace

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business? (Luke 2:49)

We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)

Some key truths about being a Christian from Ephesians 4:

  1. I allow myself to be equipped to support and build up the church

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, (v.11-12)

  1. I am expected to grow up and be on task

14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ

  1. Embrace my new life in Christ and resist the old
  2. Use my grace to help the body grow

16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4:16)

10 For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. (Hebrews 6:10)

We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

15 And he said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18)

Our Vision – To transform lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

man must not live by bread alone but from every word that comes from the mouth of God”. (Matthew 4:4)

Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law. (Proverbs 29:18).

Our MissionTo connect people with God, Others and Destiny.

“We believe a great commitment to the great COMMISSION and the great COMMANDMENT will grow a great church!”

24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matthew 16:24-25)
