You can get Back What you Lost!

“YOU CAN GET BACK WHAT YOU LOST!”

Text: II Kings 8:3-6

A BIBLE PRINCIPLE THAT WILL WORK IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE: “IF YOU WANT TO GET BACK WHAT YOU LOST, THEN YOU HAVE TO GO BACK TO WHAT YOU LEFT.”

-If you lose the habit of Christian fellowship, loving people, and being nice to others. You will lose friends, you will lose respect, and you will lose people who come, and help you when you need it.

THE GOOD NEWS: If you want to get back what you lost, then you have to go back to what you left. The only way to get back what you lost is to go back to what you lost.

As a society we have left morality, left modesty, left the fear of God, and since we left the fear of God- we have also lost the SMILE of God.

Together, we must protect, cherish, and defend the dignity and the sanctity of every human life. When we see the image of a baby in the womb, we glimpse the majesty of God’s creation.”

1. You cannot leave DEDICATION, and not lose GODLINESS.

You cannot leave separation, and not lose distinction. When we leave something, we lose something. You cannot leave the principles, the precepts of God’s word, and not lose.

POINT: “Free choice and disobedience got you into this mess, and free choice and obedience will get you out of this mess.”

It is costing you something to not be close to God. If you leave dedication; if you leave sanctification; if you leave standards; if you leave purity, you will lose something – you can’t be the same if you ignore dedication to God.

2. SAMSON lost power is because he left purity. (Judges 16)

Samson lost purity, and he lost power. PURITY PRODUCES POWER.

WHEN SAMSON KEPT HIS VOWS: He had power.

When he left what he vowed to do, God left what He promised to do in his life.

POINT: When you leave the principles and precepts of God, it is a matter of time until you lose His presence.

The Curse of this generation is “That it wants back what is lost, but it doesn’t want to go back to what it left.”

POINT: Nobody can afford to lose the presence of the Lord.

Judges 16:20, “Samson did not know that the Spirit had departed from him.”

He lost because he left. What did he leave? He lost his consecration, he left his commitment, he left his purity-If you leave purity, then you lose the power that comes from a committed life.

Notice the key to the story in II Kings 8 when she came back after 7 years, the first person she met with was the KING.

*When you go to the King, you get back your joy, your peace, and God’s presence.
