Proverbs 4:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Guard: to keep watch, set a sentry

Guilt          “I owe you.”         

Anger       “You owe me.”     

Jealousy      “Life owes me.”      

Greed         “I owe me.”             

Matthew 6:24 NIV

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Master: One who is in charge by virtue of possession or ownership.

Money plus what money promises is the number one competitor of my heart.
