“Thinking Big In Small Places”
Genesis 13:14-18 (NKJV)
14And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. 16And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”
“If God be your partner, make your plans big!!” – D.L. Moody
The challenge for us is to learn how to think big in small places!
Long before the dream or vision for your life ever becomes reality in your life, it becomes a vision in your spirit.
“The smallness you are feeling is coming from within you. Your lives are not small, you’ve just been living them in a small way.” II Cor. 6:12 (Message)
Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)
20Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Philippians 2:13 (NIV)
13for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
God fulfills the vision of our lives from the inside out!
14And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.
The first thing we must recognize is that we can see the promise of God for our lives from
where we are.
Secondly, we must understand the importance of becoming people of spiritual vision.
Hebrews 11:24-27 (NKJV)
24By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
Make difficult decisions—“refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter”
Be willing to pay the price—“choosing to suffer hardship with the people of God”
Live for the eternal—“for he was looking to the reward”
Overcome fear—“not fearing the wrath of the king”
