He will be Called… Mighty God

 Isaiah 9:6-7

Isaiah spoke of a coming

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

Though he came as a servant Jesus Christ also showed himself to be

Jesus was mighty in

 – fed great multitudes Matt 14:13-21

 – calmed the sea Matt 8:23-27

  – authority over demons Matt 8:28-34
 raising the dead Matt 9:18-24

  – serve and give his life as a ransom Matt 20:28

 – resurrection Matt 28

Sometimes we ask: God is your power?

Jesus’ power is at work you

 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

Jesus’ power is at work you

29  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)

 30  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31  but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30-31 (NIV)

Jesus’ power is at work you

  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NLT)
