Weapons Of Spiritual Warfare

May 26, 2021

The Lord put this message on my heart several months ago and with everything going on in our world today and the Word that we’ve received over the last several services. I felt now was the time to bring it out. It’s really just basic stuff the we have all heard before. Nothing deep but we all need to get back to the basics from time to time.

Just like with a house the first layer is the foundation and everything else is built on it. Eventually you will need to revisit the foundation and inspect it for any damage and if there be any found then you would need to have repairs or supports added to keep the foundation strong and able to withstand holding everything up.

Every now and then we need to get back to Christianity 101 the basics. Daily Devotion, Prayer, Worship, Giving, and being faithful to the House of the Lord to name a few. Theses and others are Our foundation for a solid and lasting relationship with Christ.

Keeping our foundation in Jesus strong and solid is crucial in these days. Cause these are the last days that we are living in and if we are not as the house built upon the rock then we will be swept away by the ever growing storm of change that our world and country are continuing to have in our values and morals that along with many other things has the pressure of life to cause a great falling away that we all see in our world today.

My Opening txt: Ephesians 6:12

My title for this evening is Weapons Of Spiritual Warfare.

How many know that we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, that it’s not the person on the road or in the store with an attitude that we are truly dealing with but the spirit that is attached to them?

Everything going on in our world today the problem isn’t the people that we war against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness in this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So for a few moments I’m going to talk about 3 different Weapons that we have for Spiritual warfare.

I was given these 3 in a dream where I saw myself and heard myself talking about this message. I woke up and wrote down the 3 that God gave me in the dream.

The first one:

  1. Prayer

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

So once again we see that our weapons are not carnal. That what we face is not something that we can cut down or take into captivity with any weapon of man. Only the tools and Spiritual weapons and gifts that are mighty through God do we have the power to overcome. Prayer being a main one. Not only is prayer are way to communicate with God but it how we fight our battles. When the world says being on your knees is a sign of defeat, for us though Blood Of Jesus is our victory.

Regardless what we face Prayer is a weapon to attack what we may face in the spirit realm that affects us in the carnal may it be our bodies or lives, our adversary is constantly attacking in one way or another. If not us directly then in our culture that we see get bolder and bolder everyday when it comes to all thinks sinful.

James 5:13-16

So we see that in sickness we us prayer, and we see why we need our foundation strong. Why we need to be in church so that we have elders to pray and anoint and that the prayer of the faith shall save the sick.

The prayer of a righteous man availeth much. If we see our prayers not being answered sometimes we might just need to check under the house and take a look at our foundation. preaching to myself.

Acts 16:25-26

Prayer has the power to set the captives free amen

Mark 9:25-29

In Mark 9:29 we see that some Spirits can only come out by prayer and fasting.

referring to the why the disciples could cast it out themselves of the man.

Psalm 55:22

1 John 1:9

It is in Prayer that we confess our sins and receive forgiveness because He is faithful and just amen

John 15:16

Praise God that He chose us. No one is here by accident for we are all chosen by Him

Matthew 7:7-8

James 4:2

Mark 11:24

Mark 11:24 NLT

Here we see that when we pray that we are call to believe that we have already received it. He’s a big God and deserves big prayers and a people with faith knowing in Ephesians 3:20 that he is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.

We have to get to the place where we realize that God is bigger than any problem or request we will ever have.

James 1:6

James 1:6 NLT

We see we cannot serve 2 masters. Our faith has to be in God alone. We cant pray in faith and then try and check in to see if He need any help or can do it.

Romans 8:26-27

Romans 8:26-27 NLT

This is why it is crucial to be filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost because we will all face times where we don’t know what to pray. When we’re weak He is strong the Spirit prays for us and only God knows what is being prayed and we can rest assure that the prayer in His own will.

And always:

1 Thessalonians 5:17

The next one:

2. The Word of God

Ephesians 6:17

Hebrews 4:12

Jeremiah 23:29

We see the Word of God is a mighty weapon. It is our sword of the Spirit. When confused it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Psalm 119:11

The Word is our defense against sin and temptation

Matthew 4:4-10

Even Jesus defeated Satan with the Word saying It is Written

The enemy knows the scriptures and that is why it so important to have our devotion and spend time in God’s Word so we are not lead astray by the Word being taken out of context.

Romans 10:17

It’s how we receive our faith

Isaiah 55:11

In receiving our faith by hearing of the Word we know that whatever His Word says that it shall not return void. Just like the prodigals. His word says “to raise up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it”.

I know because I use to be one and His Word didn’t return void with me and it won’t for every name in that jar and for all of our prodigals.

Psalm 119:89

It’s settled. No argument. No question. No changing it. It is what is forever and always. I don’t care what society says or what the times and culture says His Word says it’s forever settled in Heaven. So what is written that is wrong is still wrong what is written that pleasing and acceptable is still right and what His Word say He will do He will still do it.

1 Peter 1:23-25

Matthew 24:35

It’s not going anywhere. No government or World power can remove it or get rid of it. They’ve tried and failed. The more the enemy tried to kill the church the larger the church grew. His Word will never pass away

John 8:31-32

His Word is truth and when we get that truth on the inside of us that same truth will set us free

This next scripture is a commandment which leads me to my last point

John 15:17

3. Love

Galatians 5:14

Romans 13:10

If we want to know how to fulfill God’s Word and purpose for us it’s right there and now more than ever our world needs the love of Christ poured out for the love of many has waxed cold in these last days. There is more hate and anger being broadcasted for all to see now more than ever. You can’t watch the news regardless of the time without something bad on it.

The problem isn’t white or black, democrat or republican, rich or poor. It’s not even hate. It’s the absence of God’s love in people

John 15:12-13

1 John 4:8

That one hits home because in this world we have all been brought up and seen things that makes us not want to love everyone but it’s forever settled God is love. If we love not hen we know not God.

That’s why it’s so important to keep God the center focus of your marriage or relationships. Love only comes from God because that is who He is. You can’t have love and not God. You may have a generic version but if it’s not the name brand in this case it won’t last and it will not fulfill you as only His love in your life can. Amen

John 3:16

1 Corinthians 16:14

1 Peter 4:8 NLT

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 NLT

1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

Proverbs 10:12

In the same dream where I received this message:

The Dream of the bruised couple in closing

We are not fighting against flesh. That’s why it’s so important to keep our swords sharpened and the full armor of God on cause we are always under attack and the enemy will slip in wherever there is an opening or crack to try and break away our foundation in Christ. We are called and commanded to love as Christ loved us. We need more prayer more of God’s Word and especially more love as we see the day quickly approaching.

Love you all
