REHAB – Honestly Evaluate My Relationships

September 19, 2021   /   Prairie Grove First United Methodist Church

Ephesians 4:21-32

Two weeks ago, we began a series called REHAB – a pathway to new life. It’s an acrostic:

R: Realize I’m not God. Realize I’m powerless to control my own thoughts and feelings; realize my life is unmanageable.

Last week, we looked at E: Earnestly believe God exists. Earnestly believe I matter to him; earnestly believe he has the power to help me.

And that leads us to the H in our REHAB:    evaluate all my relationships. Offer to those who have me and makefor harm I’ve done to others except when to do so would harm them or others.

1 John 4:20

There are obviously two parts to this step in your REHAB:  First, forgive those who have hurt me, and second, make amends to those I’ve hurt.

 those who have hurt me:

 John 20:23

WHY forgive?

  1. Because

Colossians 3:13

Isaiah 1:18

How do I ask God for His forgiveness?

Here’s some Do’s and Don’ts:

  1. Don’t
  2. Don’t
  3. Don’t
  4. Do

2. Because

Romans 12:19-21

3. Because

  1.  my hurt with God’s Colossians 3:15

I said there were two steps; the second step in this choice is …

2. MAKE AMENDS TO THOSE I’VE HURT

Hebrews 12:15

HOW?

  1. Make a  of those I’ve harmed and what I did.

  1. Think how others to make amends to me.

  • The right (Ecclesiastes 8:6)

Here are some do’s and don’ts of accepting fault:

  1. Do be radically
  2. Don’t
