Five Things I Believe When I Pray
September 20, 2020Text: Acts 12:1-16.
What I like about this text:
- Church praying.
- Peter sleeping.
- Rhoda Rejoicing.
Why don’t we see Miracles today?
1. Sometimes = (John 16:24)
2. Often =
People say, “I want to be a person of prayer.” That doesn’t just happen. It’s a decision that requires militant attention. More important than choosing a time to pray, is finding people to pray with. They will force you into a time. Who prays with you?
Five Things I Believe When I Pray:
1. God
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.” (1 Peter 3:12)
“This is the confidence (faith: I believe this for sure) we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14)
2. God
Exodus 2:25, Exodus 3:7, Exodus 4:31, 1 Peter 4:7
3. God
Acts 12:7-11 (five miracles)
4. God
Acts 12:20-23
5. God
Questions to consider:
- Do you desire to pray? Ask God to give you a desire to pray.
- Who prays with you? Invite someone to pray with you.
- Have you asked for God’s peace in whatever situation is troubling you?
- Do you trust God’s justice, or are you relying on the anger of this world to solve our problems? Release your anger in this hour.
