1 Chronicles 28:1-11a
1. OUR
A. TO GOD
Psalms 19:1-3:
The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Hebrews 1:1-2:
Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2 And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.
Have we made a serious effort to know God?
B. TO GOD
Matthew 22:36-38:
“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
PLC Vision Statement: Inspiring people to follow Jesus by loving each other and serving our neighbors.
Are we committed to serving God completely and willingly?
2. OUR
A. GOD THE HEART
Why is it so hard for us to serve God willingly sometimes?
When we are in line with God’s heart, our motivations are His purposes, not our own.
3. OUR
A. IF WE HIM
Are you making a diligent effort to find God, to learn and do His will?
B. IF WE HIM
Remember our duty to God is to know and serve God.
Our motivation for knowing and serving God is to become better Christ followers AND to be a reflection of Christ to others.
And the promise that God gives us to find us when we seek Him and draw near us when we draw near to Him, ensures a deeper relationship with Him.
