The Jesus Perspective – Part 4 Pure of Heart

Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

How can we, as sinful people, who live in a sinful world, have pure hearts? 

Those that see God, already have been given a pure heart, as a free gift of God’s grace – by faith.

1. A pure heart serves God with the heart! 

2. A pure heart is willing to come under . 

3. A person with a pure heart dares not act in the least against his or her . 

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

“The hypocrite suspects others of sin but has charitable thoughts of himself! The sincere Christ-follower has charitable thoughts of others and suspects themself of sin.” Watson

5. A pure heart after purity. 

“Lord, give me a pure heart! Let my heart have this inscription etched on it, ‘Allow me to be Holy to you Lord. Let my heart be Your temple God, for You to dwell in it.’” Watson

6. A pure heart all sin. 

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”
