Divided shadows

Matthew 12:22-30 (NLT)

How do I overcome a divided heart? 

1. Identify the distractions in my life.

• Do you have an agenda that distracts you from your relationship with Jesus?
  • Political distractions
  • Financial distractions. 
  • Social media distractions. 
  • Temptation distractions. 

2. Stay on mission.

• Mission is about focus! 
• So what is the mission? To fully commit our life to Jesus. 
• Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
•  We are called to advance the kingdom of God by staying out of the shadows and being the light by blessing those around us. 

What gets you off mission? 

How do you respond when people oppose you or your ideas?

When you know who you are in Christ and what your mission is about, it doesn’t matter what people say about you!

Commit to being unoffendable.

3. Leave the shadows and return to the light!

Vs 30, Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me. 

• As followers of Christ we are always moving against the current. 

Revelation 2:4 “But I have this complaint against you, you don’t love me or each other as you did at first. Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.”

When were you the most in tune with your relationship with Jesus? What were you doing at that time? 

• Were you more connected to the church?
• Did you read your Bible more?
• Did you pray and worship more?
• Were you more generous and compassionate?

Jesus is the light, he wants to help you and bless you.
