The Law of Opposites

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” 

Luke 6:21 “Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh later.” 

“What are we supposed to be mourning about?”

1. We mourn for all that is with us and the world.

 

  •  When we realize the power of sin and the devastating effects of sin there is a sense of morning.

Romans 8:22 

“We know the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”

“What is to be gained by mourning?”

2. Mourning helps us identify with .     

Ecclesiastes 7:3 

“Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.”

Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.”

How do we grow into meekness?

  1. Strive to be .

Philippians 2:5-8 

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage…”

  1. to authority. 
  2. what’s needed.
  3. circumstances.

Philippians 4:11-12 

“For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation…”
