Philippians 1:1-11

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23, ESV)

  5. Become (v. 8)

Head

  • Using your own words, how do you define happiness? For you, how is this different from joy?
  • Recall the five ways to discover joy that Pastor Tim shared in this week’s sermon. Which one do you need to focus on this summer and why?
  • Compare the prayer in Philippians 1:9-11 with the prayer in Colossians 1:9-11. What part of this prayer does your heart echo today?

  • Read Philippians 1:3-8. Which emotion do you feel when you hear these words? Why do you think you feel this way?
  • What does joy motivate and inspire you to do that happiness cannot?
