Open Heart Church Surviving the Times Pt.3: Standing in Peace August 18, 2021 View All Past Notes Share Main Scripture Reference(s) Ephesians 6:10-18, Surviving the Times Pt.3: Standing in Peace August 18, 2021 / Pastor Richard Donald / Ephesians 6:10-18 / Open Heart Church Remember Who We are Fighting Principalities Powers Rulers of Darkness Spiritual Wickedness WE have to remember we’re not fighting the person we’re fighting the spirit that’s operating behind the person. The Enemies major ammo is to cause you to embrace some type of lie We have to Live in Truth Stay Covered in Righteousness The Shoes with the Gospel of Peace The Gospel is Good News Message which brings inward peace You can have external turmoil, warfare but when you have the gospel inside of you you have an internal calm that produces peace. No matter your circumstance God wants us consistent with knowing He won’t let us go through anything He has not equipped us to handle. That’s Good News Romans 5:1 1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our LORD Jesus Christ We have Peace with God Through Faith` (S.U.C.C.E.S.S.) S – Self Acceptance – Psalm 139:14-18 I will praise You, for [a]I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.15 My [b]frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. Know you are fearfully and wonderfully made Devil wants you to resent your history, and not accept yourself God knows everything about you. Accept your gift, God already fashioned you before you were formed. Ex. Potter and the Clay God thinks about you, He wants you to accept who you are U- Under Authority– Hebrews 13:17 If you are not under someone’s authority you are out of control If there is no submission, there’s no peace. Harlot spirit will rule you C- Character– Romans 8:28-29 God is interested in the development of your character Many think they are at peace when they are happy, God will bring you to peace by making you whole You have been predestined to be formed into the image of His Son Gods design is that when we get to certain junctures in our life we look more like Jesus than in previous junctures in your life Until you get a grip with that from all the drama, all the pain, all the challenges,, all the stuff you’ve been through. You’re going through that because God is transforming your character into His image. WWJD The sooner you grasp that and apply the sooner God releases the pressure Matthew 5:21-48 You have heard, this is what I say Character brings, patience, and peace C- Chains are Broken – John 8:32, 36 God wants you to live in freedom You don’t have to be in bondage for anything Some have been addicted to, in bondage to, locked in secrets and habits that you have accepted the lie from the enemy that you cant be free from it If you let Jesus get in charge of your life you can be free It doesn’t matter how long, how deep, how strong, The Name, Power, and Blood of Jesus can free you He died for your freedom, buried for your freedom, got up out the grave for your freedom, He shed His blood so you could be free Truth Sets You Free, Peace keeps you free E- Everything Belongs to God – Psalm 24:1 Principle of ownership. God owns everything I can have peace when I realize everything belongs to God No one cant take anything from me when its not mine. It they take something it belongs to God and they will have to answer to Him S- Suffering 1 Peter 5:10 There’s a point we all will have to suffer You will be perfected: mature You will be Established: confirmed, fixed, official You will be strengthened: strong. Built-up, made healthy When? After you have suffered for awhile We have so many that’s not mature because when we enter the domain of suffering we run out Maturity allows you not to be phased We face thins in our past so when we face it in our future we can take a licking and keep on ticking, stay the course You cant become what God wants you to become, and do what God wants you to do until you have been through something S- Success Psalm 1:1-3 God desire is for you to prosper Whatever he does shall prosper, wherever he goes, whatever he says God looks down on you and you prosper The word is our root, planted by the water, the word leads me Quit letting everything but the word tells you what to do Put the Gospel on and walk-in Peace Without a relationship with Jesus Christ, we are empty inside. There’s a void Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God’s peace goes beyond human understanding How can you be calm and all hell is breaking loose. Can’t Be Explained Feet Shod- Think about the things you could not do if you couldn’t stand That which you stand on That which empowers you to move forward (make progress) Shod- bind under, strapping it down, to tie down tightly and not easily removed

Strap the gospel of peace on your life so that no matter where you going, where you standing, you are tied down. Get delivered from the flip flop mentality: Why do people wear flipflops: comfortable, slide on and off easy Slide out of lifestyle real quick so they can go jump into something else Paul Says take the gospel and strap it down on you. No matter where you go, you cant easily jump out of it When you go somewhere you don’t suppose to be, you will stand out like a sore thumb 2 Timothy 2:15 Preparation Prepared, Made Ready (Practice) Equipped on the inside Feet be shod with the preparation: let your lifestyle have strapped to it, an inner equipping of the gospel. I’m ready to deal with and bring someone to the understanding of God’s love 1 Peter 3:15 Ready-Fit, I’ve been in training Always- Do it with Regularity Answer- Speak for yourself, your own testimony, own story Meekness- Mild and Humble (not rudeness and arrogance Fear- Alarm, fright, and terror ( I don’t want to see you go to hell) 1 Thessalonians 5 The House is on Fire, I’m trying to save your life Know Romans Road: Romans 3:23, We all have sinned and have fallen short Romans 6:23 Wages of sin (pay, reward, compensation) Death means separated from God, but God has created a eternal gift that can’t be earned or bought. One road John 14:6 Romans 5:8 God demonstrates and shows us how much He loves us while we still are in our sins We were not even born yet No matter what your sin is you can be forgiven today Tell Somebody that The Blood of Jesus Can wash you Romans 10:9-13 Confess that He is Lord Believe He died on the cross, buried, and got up You, Will, be Saved I’m Hanging with the whoever’s Save PDF Locally Click to save a copy of the filled-in notes to a PDF file on your device Generate File Click to View PDF Save PDF to Google Drive Click to save a copy of the filled-in notes to a PDF file on your Google Drive account(For Apple devices, use Chrome browser or go to SETTINGS>SAFARI and uncheck BLOCK POPUPS.)
