Big Idea: Baptism proclaims your participation in God’s family AND God’s mission 

Baptism: Our act of obedience that publicly confesses our faith in Christ and marks our identification with Him, His family, and His mission. 

[1] God’s mission involves making disciples of Jesus  

  • Matthew 28:18-19a  
  • Making disciples involves intentional relationships that help others trust and follow Jesus. 
  • Identify one person God placed in your life
    • Friend:
    • Relative:
    • Acquaintance:
    • Neighbor:
    • Co-worker / Classmate
 

[2] God’s mission involves multiplying as disciples of Jesus  

  • Matthew 28:19-20a 
    • Going: “Living a Sent Life”
    • Baptizing: “Growing in God’s family”
    • Teaching: “Developing an Obedient Life” 
  • Matthew 28:20b Jesus: “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age”
