The Church We All Need

1 Thessalonians 1

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

Where to Find Encouragement

1.Find Shaped People

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith 1 Thessalonians 1:3

For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction… They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5,9

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.  Romans 1:11-12

2. Find Fueled People

We remember before our God and Father … your labor prompted by love.

1 Thessalonians 1:3

3. Find Inspired People

We remember before our God and Father … your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 1:3

…and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. 1 Thessalonians 1:10

Marks of an Encouraging Church

1.We Encouraging

And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,  1 Thessalonians 1:7-8

2. We Encouraging

We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.

1 Thessalonians 1:2

3. We an Encouraging

You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.  1 Thessalonians 1:6
