The church at Corinth was…

Defiled –

Divided –

Disgraced –

Characteristics of the Church because of our holy calling:

Set Apart by God: 1 Corinthians 1:1-3

Enriched by God’s Grace: 1 Corinthians 1:4-6

Expecting Jesus to Return: 1 Corinthians 1:7

Depending on God’s Faithfulness: 1 Corinthians 1:8-9

The Church United

Paul’s Exhortation:

1. All Agree

Quarrels or strife are works of the flesh or the old nature.

Usually, quarrels are a result of me wanting things done my way.

Agreement often requires one to find common ground or deny my rights to protect unity.

2. No Divisions

Schisms: a split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, caused by differences in opinion or belief.

So, it becomes a matter of purpose within my life that everything I do, will be done for the purpose of unifying not dividing.

3. Made Complete in Same Mind – Same Judgement

Made whole or perfect regarding what we are called to do!

Like Mindedness! Like Purpose!
