Absolute Surrender

1. He who he was.

Romans 7:15-19

True spiritual growth only makes you realize how truly helpless you are…but Paul wasn’t paralyzed by the realization of his wretchedness because he also knew who he was in Christ.

2. He did not count as his own.

Acts 20:22-23a, Philippians 3:7-9

This life we work so hard to preserve, it’s not ours. It was given to us by God. It’s not my life. It’s His.

3. He had a purpose.

Acts 20:23b, Romans 15:17-20

We have been conditioned by culture and our own hearts to find our purpose in many things, but there is only one overarching purpose for a child of God: to glorify God by making the gospel known.

4. He had an perspective.

2 Cor. 4:16-18, Romans 8:28-29

God has started a good work in you, and he promised to complete it. He rarely completes a work without some pain attached to it.

5. He God’s

Colossians 1:15-18, 2 Cor. 4:7-9, 16-18, 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Nothing happens in your life that doesn’t first pass through the mind and the hands of your Heavenly Father. There is always a purpose, and the purpose is always good.
