The Problem (Chapters 1-3)
September 8, 2024 / Crossroads Community ChurchJump to What’s Happening at Crossroads
2 God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures. (Romans 1:2)
16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes — the Jew first and also the Gentile. (Romans 1:16)
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. (Romans 1:18)
1 You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. 2 And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. 3 Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? … For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 He will judge everyone according to what they have done. (Romans 2:1-6)
Any religious practice void of the Gospel of Jesus is to address the brokenness of humanity.
1 Then what’s the advantage of being a Jew? 2 Yes, there are great benefits! (Romans 3:1-2)
The Law shows us our for our Savior.
20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. (Romans 3:20)
Sin isn’t just an action, it’s a .
22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (Romans 3:22-24)
Jesus didn’t die just to get you into heaven. He died to get into you.

Over the next six weeks, let us discover how the grace of God transforms us from the inside out, changing how we live day to day. If you want to dig deeper, we have resources available for you.
FALL SMALL GROUPS
When we say “We become more like Jesus together,” we mean it! God designed each one of us to be connected to others. It’s an essential component to a growing faith. At Crossroads, that connection happens through groups. Starting in mid-September, we will have about 20 opportunities for you to get connected. We have groups for couples, women, men, empty-nesters, young adults, young professionals, and those needing healing. To find out more and sign up. We will also have a Fall 2024 Groups booklet for you today to let you have all of our group options and details close at hand.
