Power for You – Week 11

Acts 4:13 NIV When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Mark 14:66-72 NIVWhile Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. 67 When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him. “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,” she said. 68 But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,” he said, and went out into the entryway. 69 When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, “This fellow is one of them.” 70 Again he denied it. After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” 71 He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about.” 72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept.

Acts 4:8-12 NIV Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the corner-stone.’ 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

1. In His Presence

Acts 4:13-20 NIV When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

His presence should be our highest priority.

Possession Without His Presence Is Pointless.

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” Jim Elliot:

2. In The Holy Spirit

“Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is not about a onetime encounter, but a lifetime relationship.”

“The baptism in the Holy Spirit is not a goal to achieve, but a gift to receive.”

3. Your Testimony

Acts 4:20 NIV As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.

“Experience never trumps scripture! But scripture will be confirmed by your experiences.”
