The Promise of teh Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-38

John 14:25-26 

3 –  The Holy Spirit is a source of revelation, wisdom, and power.  

1 Cor. 2:10-11   The Spirit searches all things, even the deep thing of God.  For who knows a person’s thoughts except for their own spirit within them?  In the same way, no  one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God”     

God gives His followers the Holy Spirit so that we may know Him better. 

Eph. 1:17-20 

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you   the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may       .   

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened  in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you,  the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people,  and His incomparable great power for us who believe.  That power is the same as the might strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the Heavenly realms”. 

Rev. 8:10-11 

4 – The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers for the purpose of helping each other.

1 Cor. 12:7-11    Romans 12:3-8 

5 – The Holy Spirit is a seal in the lives of believers.

Eph. 1:13 

The Holy Spirit is our seal of approval.

He is our “engagement ring.”

He bears proof that we are Children of God.   Romans 8:16 

 

6 – The Holy Spirit helps in us in our  weaknesses and intercedes for us.

Romans 8:26-27

7 – The Holy Spirit sanctifies and enables believers to bear good fruit in their lives.

Galatians 5:16-21    16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 

Galatians 5:22-25  BUT the FRUIT of the Spirit (the results of having Him control your life) is LOVE… 

 

2 Thessalonians 2:13 “…God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.”
