Spirit-Shaped Life

ROMANS 8:1-8

“Romans 8 is arguably the greatest chapter in the Bible. It begins with no condemnation and ends with no separation.” – H.B. Charles Jr.

BIG IDEA: A Spirit- mind produces a Spirit- life.

1. the futility of the flesh.

Revelation 3:19, “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.”

Characteristics of the Person who is Zealous for Conviction:

  1. Stand confident in Romans 8:1.
  2. See conviction as God leading you to life and peace.
  3. Submit your life under godly counselors.

2. to the Spirit.

John 16:14, Jesus speaking about the Holy Spirit, says, “He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”

“Your religion is what you do with your solitude. In other words, wherever your mind goes most naturally and freely when there is nothing else to distract it—that is what you really live for. That is your religion. Your life is shaped by whatever preoccupies your mind. The overcoming of sin in our lives begins in our minds; and victory over sin is only ever the result of having minds set on the Spirit.” – William Temple
