MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

October 18, 2026

PSALM 84:1–2, 10 (NIV)
“How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!” (v. 1)

THREE TAKEAWAYS

1. limits our vision, but reminds us of God’s presence

2. God is doing more than our eyes can see.

3. God is greater than our .

BIG IDEA:

Just because you cannot see God working doesn’t mean He isn’t on your behalf.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 (NIV)
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.’

HEBREWS 11:1 (NIV)
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. ‘

2 KINGS 6:15–17 (NIV)
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.”

LIMITS OUR VISION, BUT REMINDS US OF GOD’S PRESENCE

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 (NIV)
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

HEBREWS 11:1 (NIV)
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

PSALM 27:1 (NIV)
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

GOD IS THAN WE CAN SEE

2 Kings 6:17 (NIV) — “Open his eyes”

2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 (NIV)
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”

GOD IS GREATER THAN OUR

Peace is not necessarily the absence of enemies.
Peace comes from that God is greater than anything we face.

2 KINGS 6:18 (NIV)
As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked.

2 KINGS 6:20–21 (NIV)
After they entered the city, Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men so they can see.” Then the Lord opened their eyes and they looked, and there they were, inside Samaria.

When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, “Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill them?”

2 KINGS 6:23 (NIV)
So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory.

Your circumstances may not change today, but your can.
The God who is with you is greater than anything standing against you.
