Discussion Questions

1. What’s the oldest thing you own? 
2. The only thing we have that has truly lasted and will last forever is the kingdom of God. See if you can see that theme played out in Daniel chapter 2. Read Daniel chapter 2:1-49 or play a recording of it (since its such a long passage). Then go around: What is one thing you are hearing from the story? 
3. Read Daniel 2:14-23. When Daniel got the bad news of his impending execution, how did he react? How do you tend to react when you face a very difficult problem? What is one way Daniel responded that you want to emulate more? 
4. Read Daniel 2:32-35, 44-49. In the king’s dream, we learn that 4 earthly kingdoms will all be destroyed. What is the one kingdom that will last forever according to this Scripture? What do you think that means? 
5. One of Jesus’ favorite topics was talking about the “kingdom of God/Heaven.” Read Mark 1:14-15. According to that Scripture, what was the good news (gospel) Jesus preached? What do you think that means? What does Jesus’ gospel have to do with the king’s dream in Daniel 2:32-35, 44-49? 
6. Is Jesus the king of your life? Why do you think that?
