OPEN DOOR Part 2: Sharing Our Faith

March 17, 2024   /   Living Word Family Church

Colossians 4:3 NIV
3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

Remove every obstacle between people and the cross.

Share our Faith

Mark 16:15-18 NIV
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

“Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you’re not saved yourself, be sure of that!”
~ Charles Spurgeon

Why we don’t share our faith?
Rejection or criticism
Lack of knowledge
Feelings of doubt

2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Matthew 25:41 NIV
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

John 3:16 NIV
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sharing your faith and bringing people to Jesus is what you were made for.

Romans 5:8 NIV
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Peter 2:24 NIV
24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Matthew 25:41 NIV
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Romans 10:14-15 NIV
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

“Fear has a way of paralyzing us when it comes to sharing our faith. We fear judgment and rejection, but share anyway. For the gospel is worth far more than the fear of man.” ~Michele Perry

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 MSG
19 Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it! 20 Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. Enter their life to know and understand them.

Matthew 9:35-36 NIV
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Are we looking to connect with people, or are we looking to correct people?

Find the 1 percent you do agree on… and give it 100 percent of your effort.
~John Maxwell

Pray for Opportunities
What do you think happens to us when we die? Do you think you’ll make it?

1. God loves you and has a plan for your life.

2. We have all sinned and therefore are separated from God.

3. Jesus is the only one who has paid for our sins.

4. We must surrender our lives to Him as Savior and Lord.

Sharing your faith and bringing people to Jesus is what you were made for.
