Lesson One: and are both made by our own .
Luke 15:10-14 (NLT); In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner .” To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate before you die.’ So, his father to divide his wealth between his sons.
“A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to .
Lesson Number Two: your friends/advisors extremely Above all, the wisdom, direction and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 24:6 (NLT); So, don’t go to war without wise ; victory depends on having many
1 Corinthians 15:33 (NLT); Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “company corrupts good character.”
“Sin looks and or may feel good, for a season, but it is a demonic and .” Rev. G.A. Clark
Luke 15:15-18 (NLT); He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked to him. But no one gave him anything.
Sin can make you doing things you would never consider. A Jewish person would normally think of eating food offered to swine (pigs) pork, as it is considered unclean.
Luke 15:17-18 (NLT); “When he finally came to his , he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have against both and ,
. Was he repentant or simply hungry? We are not given a clear answer yet.
Luke 15:19-20 (NLT); and I am no longer of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.” ‘ “So, he returned home to his father. And while he was still a way off, his father him coming. Filled with and , he to his son, him, and him.
Lesson Number Three: Repentance Meets Grace Time!
Luke 15:21-22 (NLT); His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the robe in the house and put it him. Get a for his finger and for his feet.
Lesson Number 4; Grace will always be and more powerful than sin! Grace is Powerful!
Luke 15:23-24 (NLT); And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must with a feast, for this son of mine was and has now to life. He was , but now he is .’ So, the began. Grace is a party! It is joy!
Luke 15:25-32 (NLT); “Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, and he asked one of the servants what was going on. ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’
“The older brother was and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends.
Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf!’ “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’ “
There were for both sons. One son away his inheritance. One son his inheritance.
What we must understand is that God does not look at sin like we do. God does not measure sin in degrees by God. He also does not apply grace in degrees either, thank God!
James 2:10 (NLT); For the person who keeps all of the laws except is as as a person who has broken of God’s laws.
Romans 3:23 (NLT); For has sinned; we fall short of God’s glorious .
Our choice is to and thereby God’s GRACE! Or to against God’s offer of grace and suffer the consequences. Both choices have eternal ramifications.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT); God saved you by His grace when you . And you can’t take credit for this; it is a from God. Salvation is not a for the things we have done, so of us can about it.
to believe and thereby, receive God’s Grace!
