When God Changes Your Direction
Philippians 3:5 If someone else thinks they have reason to put confidence in the flesh, I have more; circumcised on the eight day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness base on the law, faultless.”
Deuteronomy 21:23 “Anyone hung on a tree is under God’s curse.”
Acts 9:1-5 “Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there whom belonged to the Way, whether men or woman, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied.”

When God Changes Our Plans We…
1. We
Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Acts 26:28-29 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”
Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
2. We
At its root, Negotiation is trying to get God to bless the life you’ve chosen instead of surrendering to the life He has called you to.
What Negotiation Reveals
1. It Reveals We Trust Our Wisdom More Than His
2. It Reveals We See God as Someone to Persuade Rather Than Someone to Trust
3. It Reveals We Don’t Fully Understood God’s Character
3. We Grieve
You cannot become the person God is calling you to be if you refuse to grieve the person He is asking you to leave behind.
James 4:8–10 “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”
When God Changes Our Plans He…
1. God Because He Sees
Isaiah 55:8–9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
2. God
Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
3. God
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”
“Lord, what do you want me to do?”
