John wants us more than anything to “believe” in Jesus Christ – the word “believe” is found almost 100 times. The gospel of John tells us about 6 miracles that are not found in the other three gospels and this is one of them. At its core, the story of the nobleman’s son being healed is a beautiful illustration of faith. A man has a problem, the man brings that problem to Jesus, Jesus makes a promise to the man, the man takes Jesus at His Word, and Jesus comes through! That’s how faith is supposed to work! Faith is humble trust in the promises of God. I. Authentic faith is not a faith. (43-46,48) There were some Jews that came to see Jesus but their primary was curiosity. They were looking for the next circus act or experience II. Authentic faith is not a faith. (46b-47) Another time that people jump on the Jesus train is when there is a crisis in their lives. There are few in emergency rooms. are no respecter of people. Because you have doesn’t mean you don’t have problems. It is sad when sometimes God solves the crisis and then the people leave or leave the faith. III. Authentic faith is a faith. (49-52) Faith is believing without .
