The Wise Use of Time
April 28, 2024 / Hill Country Bible Church - San Saba
Big Idea: What if time (our lives) is a gift from God, to be lived and enjoyed with him, spending time in the ways he says lead to life?
Stewarding time wisely means living life . (Eph 5:15-17)
Stewarding time wisely means living life . (Eph 5:18-19)
Stewarding time wisely means living life . (Eph 5:20)
Stewarding time wisely means living life . (Eph 5:21)
MY APPLICATION
Use the following questions this week to reflect on what it would mean to align yourself with the truths taught in Scripture. Each question is meant for both personal reflection and as a catalyst for discussion with your family and friends.
- Share how you tend to use time (maximize and never late, or freer with time)? How does that show up in your life?
- Ephesians 5:15-16 talks about living life carefully and making the best use of time. What does it look like to do that? Why is it hard to live that way consistently?
- Ephesians 5:18-19 talks about being filled with the Holy Spirit. What are some other things people fill themselves with and how does that impact how they spend their time? What does it look like practically to fill yourself with the Holy Spirit?
- Do you consider yourself a thankful person? Why or why not? How could living thankfully help us use our time wisely?
- Based on Ephesians 5:15-21, if you were going to adjust how you spend your time, what change would you make and why?
Memory Verse
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
