1 Cor. 13:7 “Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
(Ph) “Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope, it can outlast anything!”
The Secrets of Lasting Love
1. Develop habits that
Warning signs:
* Always feeling fatigued
* Too tired to care
* Depending on stimulants
Suggestions:
a.
“It’s senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night. … God wants (you) to get your proper rest.” Ps. 127:2 (LB)
b.
“You made my body, Lord; now give me sense to head your laws.” Ps. 119:73 (LB)
c.
1 Cor. 6:19-20
2. Develop habits that
Warning signs:
* Sense of being overwhelmed
* Outbursts of impatience
* Desire to avoid people
* Dreaming of “getting away”
Suggestions:
a.
“Because so many people were coming and going … Jesus said to them, `Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mk. 6:31
b.
“Jesus came enjoying life.” Mt. 11:19 (Ph)
c.
“Being cheerful keeps you healthy.” Pr. 17:22 (GN); Pr. 14:39 (LB)
3. Develop habits that
Warning signs:
* Nothing seems worth the effort
* Life seems futile/purposeless
* Blaming God for your problems
* Increased worry
Suggestions
a.
“This is the reason we never lose heart. (Our body) does indeed suffer wear and tear, but every day the inward man receives fresh strength.” 2 Cor. 4:16
“Cast all your cares on God, for He cares for you.” I Peter 5:7
b.
“. . . let us encourage one another . . .” Heb. 10;25

“I will sing of Your strength in the morning I will sing of your love, for you are my refuge in times of trouble.” Ps. 59:16
