The purpose prayer is not to perfect it but to it to perfect

 Luke 11:1 6:1-6 & 16-18 — Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said “Lord, teach us to pray”

   Matthew Henry – Prayer is lifting up the soul and pouring out your heart

Jon Courson says that when we pray we “don’t need to inform the Lord, or convince the Lord, we need to connect to the Lord.” 

In Matthew 6:8, Jesus said the same thing.  Jesus said: For your Father knows what you need before you ask him

William Barclay defines prayer is

Prayer is an expression of a trusted relationship

“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!  Matthew 6:7,8

Matthew 6 — Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your iname.

10 Your kingdom come.

jYour will be done

On earth kas it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our ldaily bread.

12 And mforgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

13 n And do not lead us into temptation,

But odeliver us from the evil one.

4For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
