Jesus’ Journey of Isolation

Mark 14:27-52

“Hurry Sickness” – 

Urgent Request – Slow down as you enter for the rest of our series in Mark. 

Why banish hurry sickness?

  1. We can’t consider a
  2. + knowledge of Scripture = Jesus’ story is normal. 

Jesus’ journey of … what is the point? 

Jesus saves the world … .

  1. Jesus predicts .

“You will fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’” (27)

2. Jesus .

“And he said to his disciples, ‘Sit here while I pray … and began to be greatly distressed and troubled.’” (32-33)

    • Slow down and see Jesus’ .
    • Slow down and hear Jesus’
    • Slow down and watch Jesus’

What do we do?

  1. We give into hurry sickness, we do little, feel even less, and then we go home. 
  2. We feel sad and beat ourselves up. 
  3. WE CHOOSE AWE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
