Hearing the Code of Kingdom–2

Mark 4:21-34

The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self –

“And he said to them, ‘To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables.’” Mark 4:11

Four Types of Hearers
Hearer	hard soil	Satan takes away the Word (15)
Hearer	shallow soil	receives it with joy … falls away (16-17)
Hearer	thorny soil	choked by cares, lies, and desires (18-19)
Hearer	good soil	hears … receives … and bears fruit (20)

Dynamic Hearing Is …

1. – It is found in a Person (1-20)

2. – It increases with usage (21-25)

“For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light.” (22)

3. – It knows that it doesn’t know. (26-29)

So much irony in this parable –

“He knows not how” (27b)

4. – It sees what will be, not what is. (30-32)
