“THE GIFT OF FREEDOM” | Pastor Patrick Machado

[Galatians 5:1] For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
[Galatians 5:6] For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
1. FREEDOM LEADS TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH
[Galatians 5:16–17] But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
[Ephesians 2:1-5] And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— ‘
2. FREEDOM OF CHRIST LEADS TO SPIRITUAL
[Galatians 6:2] Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
[Galatians 5:13-15] For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.[Proverbs 1:7] The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
