And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. – Isaiah 35:10 (ESV) 

ADVENT OF JOY: THERE IS JOY IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS BECAUSE OF  AND  OF JESUS. 

1. for God’s ransomed people. 

Those the Lord has rescued will return. 

They will enter Zion with singing; 

 everlasting joy will crown their heads. 

Gladness and joy will overtake them, 

 and sorrow and sighing will flee away. – Isaiah 51:11 (NIV) 

2.  for God’s ransomed people. 

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 And going into the house,  they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. – Matthew  2:10-11 

10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. – Luke 2:10-11
